Cookie?
Thursday, July 20th, 2006
Here Ivy is signing “cookie” although judging from the chocolate all over her face and the one empty spot on the rack behind her, I would say that she has already helped herself!
Apparently, she can reach the counter now. Uh oh!
Reunion 2006
Thursday, July 20th, 2006
Just thought this picture should be posted here. I swiped it off Dan’s website. What a good looking group! We were only missing 4 people this year.
Nathan and Grandpa
Monday, July 17th, 2006
Grandpa takes a big bite of his s’more at the reunion cookout. He told me that he really likes them, but that he always spends the rest of the night licking marshmallow out of his beard.

Thanks, Warren
Saturday, July 8th, 2006I was really glad to see the work you’ve done on the website, Warren. I echo waht Michael said, though–it would be great to have a beter way of updating emails etc. (especially since a lot of emails and cell numbers on the list that Michael prepared for the reunion turned out to be obsolete (I, e.g., assumed that Sharon still used her aol account and she said, ‘Dad, I NEVER use that.’)) But how does it actually work?
And I think having a blog for the cousins is a perfect way of getting their ideas for Reunion 2007. I very much want to get their input, and to give them a lot more of the leadership of next year’s get-together.
Thanks for leading the way on this, Warren. This rather tech-less family needs you!

Cousins Suggestion Box
Saturday, July 8th, 2006[EDITED: An apostrophe in the title made links in the first email not work]
All,
We talked about getting the cousins together while we were in Pigeon Forge to discuss some ideas and suggestions concerning next year’s reunion. We decided, instead, we should try to use the website for that.
So we’re going to start this off with this post. If you have a suggestion about what would make next year’s reunion even more enjoyable, then submit a comment to this post. We can discuss the ideas here.

New Website Feature
Saturday, July 8th, 2006All,
I have created a new feature on the 816pine.com website. From now on, when someone makes a new post on the site, all who are registered on the site will receive an email notification that the post has been made. The email will contain the text of the post and links for others to comment on the posts. If you are registered on the site, you are probably reading one of those notifications now. I will send out an email, later, to everyone, providing instructions to all who did not receive the notification for this post how they can register.
My hope is that the website can be used for communication to the entire family instead of the current system of trying to keep a very long list of frequently-changing email addresses up-to-date. It will also help us organize responses, because comments made on a post are kept with that post. As an example, I will, later, create a post asking the cousins for suggestions and ideas for next year’s reunion. We’ll use it as our forum for discussion (in lieu of the forum at Pigeon Forge which we cancelled in favor of playing mafia).
